Testimonials

For the past five years theSpace has been my number one choice as a venue: its openness, inclusivity and positivity is celebratory to all new work. theSpace is family: from the joy and energy of the tech and front of house team, to the professionalism of the press office, to Charles; who champions new writing and has been an ambassador for innovation. Each year, I have grown creatively: from a one week run (2014) to a whole month (2018). The support and sheer zest for the arts the space emanates, encourages all to be bold and brave in their fringe experiences. theSpaceUK never forgets the grassroots level which the fringe came from; and is forever empowering all creatives who cross its threshold - to reach for the stars! Can’t wait for 2019.
theSpaceUK has looked after us for three years, and we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. It is run professionally, graciously, with all the help, appreciation, and knowledgeable expertise to make our run smooth and joyful. The venues are classy. Thank you theSpaceUK!
You are the best venue I have ever used. 5 stars 😊
Our time spent at the Fringe was amazing and that is largely due to your organisation and helpful staff. I really enjoyed working with you guys and if/ when I come back I would definitely put you at the top of the list! My sincere Thanks again.
A cracking run this summer with enormous thanks to the space. Your team at the space on the Mile were absolutely incredible from start to finish, with particular support from Imogen and Louise but with amazing input from everyone . Press office and Ruth were incredible as well ; in short a wonderful summer and a great run. Many audience stayed to say nice things and winning Mervyn stutter’s Pick of the fringe was just the icing on the cake
We want to say a huge thank you for your support and guidance in getting The Theatre Shed to Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was pretty ground breaking stuff as we are the first out of all the Sheds (including main house ChickenShed) to have made it there! Your team has been incredible from start to finish, and we would like to make a personal shout out to Zoe at theSpaceTriplex for being so calm, clear and understanding with all our young performers. For many it could have been far too overwhelming, but they instantly made our performers feel calm and welcome which set precedence for the week that followed. Thank you again. We look forward to next year and the opportunities that may come.
After two performances of The Rape of Artemisia Gentileschi can I say I am so impressed with the kindness, friendliness and helpfulness of your staff. Each and every one of them has made us welcome and helped us so much. It is a pleasure to be at your venue and please pass on my thanks to all the great people working at theSpaceUK. I am so pleased we chose your venue.
My students and I would like to thank you and the entire SpaceUK team for the opportunity to perform at Fringe. You went out of your way to help me navigate the entire process and patiently dealt with the complications I had on my end. The result was a genuine transformative learning experience that truly changes the student
Thank you so much for all your support and guidance over the last nine months. I can't wait to return to the Fringe and when I do, I'll certainly return to theSpaceUK. You and all your colleagues have been fabulous. We had an amazing time performing The Amazing Clinic of Armour and Smith at Venue 45. The performance space was beautiful, the tech team were very accommodating and incredibly friendly and the box office were helpful and cheerful. I'm also happy to announce that we sold out and got plenty of laughs from our audience. I look forward to seeing you again.
I’d like to thank you and everyone in theSpaceUK team, particularly at theSpace @ Surgeon’s Hall, for a fantastic experience. Things have run very smoothly. There isn’t a lot of space (no pun intended!) for performers with disabilities at the Fringe – at least, not as much as we think there should be – and when we made a presentation on access issues to Fringe Central earlier this week, we were able to highlight how accommodating and constructive theSpaceUK has been in this regard.
